In fairness to the Miata Driver, the 'spot' next to him was occupied by an enclosed bicycle locker that only took up 1/3 the space. I composed the photo without the big green box in the frame, although you can see the shadow in the frame. He was just cheating the space to avoid door dings from the appliance driving lemmings on the Google Campus.
